The painting is based on a reference photo from Miss Grey Photography. I wanted to capture the movement of the steer and the dogs…and the dust! It is a great result that I am over the moon with. It is on a stretched canvas and I built up the under-painting with sand, tissue ,material strips and thick gesso to create an interesting surface. It was painted in acrylic and then oil paint. 76 cm x 101 cm or 30″x 40. The painting has been professionally framed with a simple black floating frame , the overall measurements are 81 cm x 106 cm or 32″ x 42″.
