‘Femelle Comtois’ Original

This oil painting done on a raw linen stretched canvas measuring 76cm x 61cm or 30″x 24″ is depicting the beautiful breed of draught horses which originated from the Jura mountains France and Switzerland. Their gorgeous blonde manes reflecting the afternoon sun creating a surreal effect on their colouring which I tried to capture in oils. I really love the colours in this painting, the lines are so soft and feminine and you can feel the emotion of calm as they stand in the afternoon sun. It has been framed with a simple yet stunning natural raw timber floating frame that just finishes the piece beautifully. The overall measurement, with frame, is 80cm x 65 cm.
