The original painting is capturing a lovely moment with mother and calf. It is created from two photos I took while at Meldon Park Simmentals visiting my sister.
This mother and calf are traditional coloured Simmentals, having the darker brown coat, and they were quite thick coated at the time!
I loved capturing the way the light reflected on their white faces, creating a lovely, yet challenging image to portray on canvas. The effect is so soft, and almost feels like you could touch the thick, lushes coat on their heads.
The original canvas measures 20″ x 30″ 76.3cm x 50.9cm and has SOLD.
