The original painting is titled A ‘Mothers Love’, you can feel the love between the mare and her foal. This artwork was the result of me trying a few new options using plywood, bass wood, MDF boards. I was trying to see if I could somehow draw with charcoal simply on a painted smooth surface… and bingo this happened!
I am so happy with the result, it is wonderful to create such intimate moments on such a simple surface using a medium I have struggled with for years.
