It is a reproduction of the painting that was inspired by a reference photo taken by @captured by Genni M over in Western Australia. I am so fascinated by the immense emotional connection of mother and calf, so of course this one really caught my eye!
I decided to really push myself and use colours I never, or rarely use. I have never been a fan of pink but I could really see it working with a few blues in this image …so I pulled my big girl pants on, stepped out of my comfort zone and had a go! The end product has grown on me since I painted it…. I was seriously in two minds about it, but then I shared it on social media and the response was awesome!. I also filmed a time lase of the creation of it, so if your interested just look up my You Tube Channel “Artwork by Catherine Clark Dowden”.
The original painting is oil paint on a raw linen canvas measuring 61cmx91.5cm or 24″x36″
