This award winning painting won Best Portrait in Show at the Royal Brisbane Show, aka The Ekka. I was approached by quite a few people wanting to get a Fine Art Reproduction of the image, so I have created a Limited Edition of only 100 reproductions. Each reproduction will be signed and numbered by me, and each one will have a Certificate of Authenticity with it.
The image is of Maurice Hetherington, a real gentleman of the land, who breeds Santa Gertrudis in Baralaba.
My aim with the painting was to capture the emotion of the moment, farmers are faced with so so many challenges each and every day, drought, fire, flood, collapsed markets…the list goes on! I wanted to capture the emotion of looking around and knowing that all the hard times, challenges and sacrifice were worth it. The feeling of pride as he sees his cattle surviving, and then flourishing in good seasons…all that in this painting.
It a stunning unmounted Fine Art Reproduction on Sihl Masterclass 320gsm textured 100% Cotton Rag fine art paper.
