It is a reproduction of the original painting that is a mixed media /oil painting . My sister has a Simmental stud and I really love to visit during calving season as they are just gorgeous. I am fascinated by the maternal bonds and really love to capture this on canvas. I have used texture to create a lovely softness to help portray the calf and using a limited palette with complimentary colours I feel it is a lovely image.
