Whenever I see a wolf I always think of spiritual beliefs , spirit guides and the wild. They are like guardians … I was once told that in American Indian culture they are the ‘Watcher’s of the Forest’ . In this painting I wanted to not only capture this beautiful creature with all the emotion and spirit but I also wanted to push my use of colour a little and by keeping my tones correct ,create the image using blues and lilacs along with basic ‘wolf’ colours. The expression of the wolf is priceless and I am so very happy with my Observer.

The painting is on a stretched canvas measuring 41cm x 51cm (16″ x 20″), which has been  framed in a raw timber floating frame, it just nicely finishes the piece without being too much. The overall size with  the frame is 44cm x 54cm.
