Serene Simmentals – Fine Art Reproductions

Portraying the different expressions of the individual cows really shows how their personalities’ and demeanour are so very unique.

I am thrilled to be asked by The Australian Simmental Association to create artworks for their stand at Beef Week 2024 in Rockhampton. The original painting is the larger of the two paintings, measuring  30″ x 60″ (76.3cm x152.4cm), and my reference photos were amazing, thanks to Meldon Park Simmentals.

When trying to capture the cattle roaming in the open paddock with your camera, it is not an easy thing to do….as they usually all have their heads down gazing! While I was painting all the different expressions of the individual cows, I realised how much it really shows how their personalities and demeanours are so very unique. You may notice that the background cows are not so detailed , this is because I wanted to create a 3D effect with the front ones.  This gives a feeling of depth and makes you, the viewer, feel like you are right there in the lush paddock with them. The colours used are pleasing to the eye, they give a feeling of a tranquil day, with a gentle breeze and no urgency in the moment.

The prints are a  stunning unmounted Fine Art Reproduction on Sihl Masterclass 320gsm textured 100% Cotton Rag fine art paper.  This Cotton Rag has a high archival rating and is printed with 12 colour Canon Lucia EX pigment Inks and will last over 100 years without fading if displayed correctly. The image dimensions given are of the image only and does not include the 3 cm wide boarder surrounding it .
